چکیده

Abstract Background More than 30 years have passed since the first laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty but nowadays less 5% of patients are currently operated by this technique as recent Spanish national data suggest. Objective To present our experience 2 after implementation in local hospital and highlight challenges we faced. Methods Our deals with a high volume abdominal wall surgery has more 20 ambulatory surgery. A multidisciplinary clinical pathway was implemented. Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair

The pre-operative assessment of the patient, and the precautions against infection and DVT are identical to the open “mesh” procedure. The surgery requires the development of a preperitoneal space behind the abdominal muscles using a balloon dissector in the first instance and a subsequent structural balloon to maintain the space, together with insufflation with Carbon dioxide to facilitate vis...

Initial experience of single port laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair: nearly-scarless inguinal hernia repair

PURPOSE In the early 1990's laparoscopic hernioplasty gained popularity worldwide. Thereafter, laparoscopic surgeons have attempted to improve cosmesis using single port surgery. This study aims to introduce and assess the safety and feasibility of single port laparoscopic total extraperitoneal (TEP) hernia repair with a nearly-scarless umbilical incision. METHODS Sixty three single port lapa...
